HELP THE VISUALLY CHALLENGED

People with visual impairments are a heterogeneous group. Some have mild vision impairments while others are totally blind. Some have visual impairment as their only disability, while others have additional sensory, cognitive and/or physical challenges. Some were sighted at one time, while others have never had vision. Students with visual impairments have unique learning needs that must be addressed if they are to access the general education core curriculum and become independent, productive citizens. We have special interest towards these students with visual impairments, so we try to aid them in every possible way and help these students by offering them our services when in need, our activities include:

  • Scribes arrangement.
  • Providing financial and medical aid to visually challenged students.
  • Organizing cultural events to showcase the talent of visually challenged.
  • Volunteering for events that are conducted for the visually challenged and assist them


SCRIBES:

We arrange scribes for the visually challenged there by assisting them in writing their exams, we have arranged scribes for 10th class, intermediate, Degree and Btech students  who appeared for their exams and also various other competitive and bank exams in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal,Guntur ,Vizag and also in Bengaluru.

Our activity:  Till date we have arranged 7000+ scribes for visually challenged students over the last four years (Feb 2012 – March 2016).

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT:

We conduct study hours for the visually challenged students their by assisting them in preparing for their exams and also volunteers interact with the students and discuss about various career related and personality development issues. We also help the students by recording their subjects in audio devices and there by assist them in preparing for their exams.

Our Activity: We conducted study hours for intermediate students from Sai junior college for visually challenged, over 100 students who were studying intermediate were residing there and our volunteers conducted study hours on every Sunday during the last two academic year from August 2013 to March 2014 and August 2014 to March 2015 they read out subjects and explained various concepts and helped them in achieving better grades in their examinations.

FINANCIAL & HEALTH AID:

We help the visually challenged students from under privileged families by sponsoring them for their education and also for their medical treatment with the support of our sponsors.

Our Activity:

  • 09th April 2014: Provided financial aid (Rs .13,200/-) for Cornea transplantation surgery to Mr.V.Santosh kumar, a violinist from Chittivalasa, Bhimili,Vizag.
  • 11th March 2014: Provided financial aid (Rs.1400/-)for medical expenses for Mr.Mallikarjun, visually challenged student who is pursuing intermediate in Markapuram, Prakasham dist.
  • 06th January 2014: Bought an Ipod (Rs.650/-) and recorded his subjects and their by helping him to prepare for his exams for Mr.Venkatesh, visually challenged student pursuing Intermediate from Nalgonda.
  • 6th August 2012: Paid Intermediate college fee (Rs.8,500/-) for Mr.Omkar, visually challenged student who is pursuing intermediate at Sri sai junior college in Kanigiri, Prakasham dist .
  • 19th July 2012: Paid Intermediate college fee (Rs.5,000/-) for Mr.V.Saikiran, visually challenged student who is pursuing intermediate at Royal junior collge in S.R.Nagar,Hyderabad.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS:

We conduct special events for the visually challenged to showcase their talent and also volunteer for various events that are organized for the visually challenged students.


Our activity:

  • Date : 18th March 2012
    Event : MANOVIKAS 2K12
    Participants : Over 170 participants from Sai junior college and Devnar School
    Activities : Competitions in Chess, Caroms, cultural events and also health and  eye check-up camps.
     
  • Date : June 2012
    Event : Challenger Trophy Cricket for Visually Challenged
    Participants : State level competition, over 12 teams from across the state participated.
    Organized by : Samanwai centre for children with multiple disabilities
    Activity : Volunteered for the event that was conducted over 3 days, assisted the participants, served lunch, ground arrangements.

 

  • Date : May 2013
    Event : All India Chess tournament for Visually challenged
    Participants : Over 250 participants from all over India
    Organized by : Amway Foundation and Devnar Foundation
    Activities : Volunteered for the event for over 5 days from 14th to 18th May,  looked out after the arrangements, served lunch and assisted the participants.

 

  • Date :January 2012
    Event : Louis Braille Birthday celebrations at Chinthal
    Participants    : Over 300 visually challenged people
    Organized by : Blind Welfare Association
    Activities : Volunteered for the event and also donated an amount of Rs.5000/- for the arrangements.
